Musings

Here we go again

So it’s back to level 3 for Auckland. I must admit I felt pretty depressed when I heard the news, but there is always a silver lining!

More time at home means less rushing around and fewer activities. I can’t say I’m too upset about that, although the kids were pretty devastated to miss out on their folk dancing! It was also disappointing to miss out on seeing my sister for her birthday.

However I’m thankful for the extra downtime, and also pleased that several of our planned house maintenance bookings can go ahead! Level 3 is certainly better than level 4. I’m also thankful that the sun is shining and thankful for the opportunity to walk around our new neighbourhood.

I feel for all those who (once again) find themselves unexpectedly homeschooling. I hope everyone’s kids are cooperative and parents manage to retain their sanity! I think it really is much easier on us homeschooling families – at least our kids can just follow their usual programmes and are accustomed to spending lots of time at home with their siblings.

No matter which category you fall into, I hope you are coping well and finding things to be thankful for. Let’s hope we can get back to normal life soon!
