Cursive

There seem to be mixed opinions on the value of teaching kids to write cursive. I’ve heard some people (e.g. Andrew Pudewa from IEW) say it’s actually easier for certain kids to begin to learn to write in cursive instead of our usual script – I think he mentioned those with dyslexia? Something to do with the flowing writing style.

Personally I’m not really sure how valuable it is, but it looks beautiful and sometimes it’s helpful knowing how to read it! So I occasionally get my kids to do some cursive writing instead of their usual copywork or handwriting.

Here’s the website I mostly use, which has been really easy and helpful. It not only has individual letter practise but also words, sentences and passages. And best of all, it’s free!
