Letters and Letterboxes!

There is joy to be found in writing and receiving letters! My son Alex has decided to construct these letterboxes for all the kids in the family (apart from the 1 year old).

Alex instigated, designed and built them all himself, so that they can enjoy posting letters to each other. He made the boxes from recycled easter egg and cereal boxes, with coloured paper on the outside for decoration. He glued and sello-taped them together, and even made keys to keep them closed! They are currently blu-tacked to the doors of their bedrooms. A letter discovered from Mum or Dad produces great excitement!

The added bonus is they now have a reason to keep writing despite being on holiday! This is definitely an activity worth encouraging.
