Journalling During Lockdown
I’ve come across a few suggestions and ideas for helping kids to journal or scrapbook as part of their education during this time of lockdown:
- Since this is a unique event, one local principal recommended encouraging kids to keep either a written or video journal recording daily events and their feelings about what’s happening, so that they have something to show their future children and grandchildren! They could include photos, drawings, newspaper articles.. and you can contribute to it by being interviewed by them.
- Christchurch artist Stephen McCarthy has created a printable Lockdown journal download for kids!
- If you think your kids would be better off not focusing too much on the virus, you could set them a task of researching a country or an animal a day. My friend is getting her three kids to work on this together for some sibling bonding!
