Happy Easter!

Our family enjoyed Easter with all our old – and new – traditions! We managed to complete our Bible reading plan in time this year, and now the homeschooling room is wallpapered with the kids’ artwork depicting the Easter story. As always it was a great opportunity to dwell on what the real meaning of Easter is.

We made our own hot cross buns a few times in the lead up, and enjoyed the store-bought variety too. The much anticipated roast lamb dinner on Maundy Thursday was a treat. We had pita bread and olives to go with it and the kids enjoyed drinking grape juice from wine glasses.

Our usual Easter egg hunt on Sunday afternoon was spiced up with questions about the Easter story along the way, making it into more of a scavenger hunt. I figured they should have to work to get their chocolate!

We also enjoyed going to Good Friday and Easter Sunday church services, complete with yet more hot cross buns and even a bouncy castle. It was so good to celebrate Jesus’ death and resurrection with other christians.
