About Me
Hi, my name’s Sarah and I’m a kiwi homeschooling mum of 6, who lives in Auckland, New Zealand. With the wonderful support of my husband, I have been homeschooling for around 6 years now and it has definitely been an experience! I’m no expert, and not a teacher by trade, but I have enjoyed learning things along the way, and I hope that some of the ideas and resources I pass on are useful to others. Most of them are ideas others have passed on to me.
Homeschooling looks different in every family – that’s the beauty of it! There are various philosophies and tastes, and of course gifts and abilities of the parent undertaking it. Taking into account your family values, interests and goals will shape what your version of homeschooling looks like.
I personally NEVER thought I would homeschool my children – but various circumstances convinced me to give it a try, and I can honestly say that homeschooling is totally do-able and a worthwhile endeavour. What a privilege to be the one to teach your kids to read and write! It’s not always easy – in fact it’s often tiring and frustrating, but I don’t think I will ever regret the time and energy spent on training our children.
