Moving House

We were finally able to move into our new house on Friday! After such a long wait it was exciting to have everything go ahead at last. We bought and sold right before lockdown – not ideal circumstances for such a transaction!

The moving company we used was World Moving and Storage. They were fantastic!! We didn’t have to lift a finger to help, just direct where to put things. The guy in charge of the packing and moving team was friendly, efficient and competent, plus he also communicated well. All the people involved were very professional and pleasant to have around. I would highly recommend them based on our experience!

The reason we chose a higher end company was our last experience of moving, which wasn’t so great. In fact, it was a complete debacle! We had the movers turn up super late, with the wrong sized truck for our piano, and guys who clearly didn’t know the best way to get a household full of stuff moved. If it hadn’t been for friends and family helping we would have been there all night!

I had pretty mixed emotions on moving day:-

• sadness over leaving a house and neighbourhood that we loved and have fond memories in
• excitement for a new beginning and a more suitable house for homeschooling, hospitality and a large family
• stress regarding timing of the move and whether we’d get access to our new place with enough time to unload before dark

Now that we’re in I have actually been enjoying the unpacking process, deciding where everything should go. But it is tiring and slow as well. I’m so thankful for all the help we’ve received throughout this moving process – we are so blessed!
